Madison & Grant, A Historic Shady Lane Wedding

I love weddings that are genuine and unique.  And this was one of those days!  Madison and Grant envisioned a modern, rustic-Tuscan wedding at Historic Shady Lane, York PA.  And friends, I cannot tell you how much Madison looked like a Grecian goddess everyone adored and admired.  Her off-the-shoulder dress, thigh high slit, free flowing curls, and accessories set the tone perfectly for their style.  We created a bouquet to compliment her statement look by using bold, dark greens and lots of open white blooms.

Madison wanted stark contrast of dark greens and bright whites in her flowers.  And she especially loved bold, open blooms, like peonies.  Which was perfect since our local peony season coincided perfectly with their June wedding.  In addition to peonies we used garden roses, traditional roses, spray roses, and lots of dark greens which we locally sourced and purchased from our wholesalers.  The whites and greens complimented their taupe and earthy color palette perfectly for a summer wedding!

Grant, an Osteopathic resident, so kindly planned most of the wedding.  (Um ladies, how cool is that?!?)  Madison had a beautiful quiet strength and was content with Grant masterfully planning a beautiful day!

Due to being in med school, they wanted to stick to their outlined budget and I applauded them for their hard work.  We dreamed up and brainstormed ways we could keep their costs down yet still make an impact to their guests.  They decided to spend the bulk of their floral $$s on their wedding party bouquets and chose simple greens running down their banquet tables as centerpieces.

Little Italian desserts sat at each place setting, with “Grazie!” -“thank you!” in Italian – tied around the white box.  We placed a bold leaf with each napkin and menu to finish the look.  And of course they served a variety of Italian desserts and pastries, including biscotti, and Proper Twelve Irish Wisky as an after dinner drink.

This was such a special day for us and I cannot thank and wish Grant and Madison all the best!! xx
