I vividly remember sitting in a local coffee shop meeting Karlee and Jason. They were both so cute and in love, and seemed to have their plans together for being so young (ha, or at least younger than when we got married!). They shared their sweet story how they met. And paused frequently to look at each other and laugh.
Karlee and Jason wanted an urban setting for their wedding and fittingly chose the Cork Factory. Although they liked the urban vibe of the venue, Karlee’s vision was to bring the outside inside through lots of texture, natural elements, and deconstructed bouquets.
Karlee envisioned a soft, almost muted palette with some fun pops of color. We chose lush juliet garden roses, white peonies, and white ranunculus as our statement flowers. We added texture through craspedia pods, snap dragons, stock, blue thistles, bells of Ireland, and feminine textures from larkspur, queen anne’s lace, and hellebores. And of course the bouquets were finished with a variety of greens (especially some ferns to bring in that nature feel), and silk ribbons.
I absolutely loved Karlee’s vision. And while she shared ideas she basically just said “Do your thing!” Ahh, music to our ears! She totally trusted us to bring her vision to life which gave us freedom to design and play.
Jason’s sisters wanted to have a little part in the wedding florals and gifted all the centerpieces to them by creating them on their own. We loved this idea and wanted to work with such a kind gesture. While most of our brides want us to provide full service florals for their day, we only created the bouquets, boutonnieres and a few statement pieces for the ceremony which were repurposed at the reception. To us it’s not about having to do the whole wedding, but helping our clients have the best experience as possible!
