Jessica & Stefan, A Box Hill Mansion Wedding

This English Garden and hot June day brought many friends, family and vendors together all over the world to the beautiful Box Hill Mansion in York, PA.

Stephanie and her creative team from Raleigh of Viva L’event focus on destination weddings, and BEAUTIFULLY planned Jessica and Stefan’s day. I mean, guys, it was beautiful!! I felt sooo honored to be part of this day!

Jessica chose a light pink, forest green, ivory and black color palette, with a romantic garden and elegant wedding flair. Oh and she wanted it to be FUN.

There sure was lots of fun, laughter and love genuinely from this family and their friends. It is who they are. And they made me feel immediately like an old family friend.

All the tables were finished with beautiful gold and cream tablecloths that draped to the floor, that were shipped from the west coast. Side note: In my opinion, PLEASE never skimp on the tablecloths!!! They help to elevate the centerpiece designs and your overall look in a variety of ways. And always, always, always, order tablecloths that touch the floor if you are going for a refined, luxe look.

Other styling details included beautifully scripted name cards which hung from champagne flutes. Gold chivari chairs AND gold silverware – eeeekk. A variety of white taper candles beautifully set in gold candlesticks, mixed with enclosed white pillar candles. We weaved greenery throughout the candles on the butted banquet tables. And set large floral centerpieces in between candles on the round and banquet tables. It was so dreamy!!

We incorporated tall centerpieces on a 4-post gold stand, which helped to fill the tall space of the tent ceiling and carry their gold theme throughout the reception.

The mansion was beautiful as it was. And Jessica and Stefan didn’t anticipate having a tent over the beautiful cobblestone patio but the iffy weather and heat of their June wedding made it a must, which they determined days before their wedding.

So Stephanie and I quickly started designing how we could elevate the plain ole white tent! I ordered as many bunches of Italian Ruscus I could get my hands on through my wholesaler – I think I literally ordered their last bunches of that week’s shipment – since I knew I couldn’t get any shipments of my favorite viney smilax in time.

I hired on extra hands to help string the pieces of Ruscus to the hanging cafe lights in the tent to bring their English Garden feel inside tent. (Don’t miss those pics below!)

If you are opting for a tent wedding this year – due to Covid restrictions or a large guest count – totally take some of these styling elements into your planning. I can 100% guarantee you’ll love all the extra love you pour into the details!!!

Thank you, Jessica and Stefan, for allowing me to take part in your day!
